How was 2013 for you so far? Mine was full of non-stop feasting continued from last year-end (till I don’t have time to blog again).

SymmetryDiscovered a really really nice cafe recently. It is only 3-month old.

SymmetryWent there on New Year’s eve and only the lunch and festive menu were available at my time of visit.

PenneThis is obviously not penne, ‘cos I swapped it for linguine, but everything was still done according to the dish ‘Penne’ – sauteéd mushrooms, parmesan cream, black truffle and cepe powder. The looks didn’t impress at all, but the taste was out of this world. I let my friends have a mouthful each and all of them sang wonders of it.

Beef FlankAnother winner, also with black truffle as one of the players.

Smoked Turkey

Smoked SalmonThough servings of salmon were generous, $22 for a bowl of salad is still not justifiable. Maybe it’s “festive” priced.

Croque NorwegianThis made a better salmon fix, but still not good enough for a brunch fix. I was so set on trying their brunch menu that I made a return trip to Symmetry again five days later (which was yesterday).

Big BreakfastAND THIS IS SATISFACTION AT IT’S BEST! Two large poached eggs with torched hollandaise sauce (or any style cooked your choice), maple glazed bacon, grilled tomato, juicy chicken cheese sausage, hash potato, mushroom, toast and a unique jam spread that seemed to be combined with butter.

Green Tea LatteRich green tea latte, but would be better if it was served even hotter.

Quality of food exceeds expectations, ambience is too good to be true, but service was friendly on one day while not so on the other. Nevertheless, Symmetry had already won my heart.
