Tiong Bahru Bakery @ Raffles City Shopping Centre 05/11/2012 Bakery, Cream of the Crop, French, Marina I guess we are all rejoicing over Tiong Bahru Bakery’s new spacious outlet in town (since the one at Tiong Bahru is always flooded). Well, it was “new” when I patronised it, but because I eat faster than I blog, and now that I’m madddddd busy, my updates have slowed down a lot lately and I apologise for it. The black thing arouses the most curiosity (including myself), so I took a go on it. It’s a squid ink bread filled with smoked salmon, rocket and pesto sauce – very unique. Next.. the most talked about croissant in town. They say it’s the best. WORD. ‘Kouign Amann,’ another popular item, is like croissant, only crispier and sweeter with glazed caramel. I prefer the former though. I LOVE THIS! Sour and zesty enough, with the thick crust to balance the taste. Took away two other top sellers – ‘Olive Bread’ and ‘Chocolate Croissant’, but I still think nothing beats THE ‘Croissant’ and ‘Lemon Tart’. They’re my must-orders on every visit. Both outlets serve coffee from Forty Hands as well.
