Hog’s Breath Cafe 07/06/2012 Australian, Cafe, Marina I’ve visited Hog’s Breath a few years back and I’ve always remembered it for its huge portions and laidback atmosphere. Today, it still lives up to my memory. This generous platter is the best solution if you can’t decide on the appetisers because everything looks tempting! Potato skins loaded with bacon, melted cheese, sour cream and chives; buffalo wings marinated with traditional hot sauce; fried chicken tenderloins with seasoned crumbs; hand cut calamari rings dusted with salt and pepper; served with yummy dips of lime sweet chilli sauce and honey mustard. Classic back ribs basted with smoked BBQ sauce till moist and soft, with crispy Hog Tail fries and house salad as sides. The half rack portion was just nice for us (though the full rack looks more worthwhile for only an additional $8). Renowned for great steak, Hog’s Breath does it by slow cooking quality grain fed beef for up to 18 hours followed by searing them quickly on a char grill to lock in the great flavours and moisture. There are lots of interesting serving combinations to their prime rib steaks – blue cheese, calamari, avocado, garlic mushroom, and garlic prawn (which is the signature and the one we had). There are also sizing options for their steaks – Regular and Aussie. If you are a meat lover, Hog’s Breath Cafe is undeniably THE place for you to pig out to your heart’s content!
