Honeymoon Dessert 满记甜品 @ VivoCity 07/11/2010 Asian, Cantonese, Harbourfront, Personal Favourites This gotta be the best Hong Kong dessert shop that we could find in Singapore at the moment. I swear I was so crazily hooked. Just look at the number of bowls ordered between two people within three visits, you’ll see why. Love how this was rich with toppings – mangoes, bananas, basil seeds, longans, atapchi (palm seeds). One of the popular dishes here. We were saying how this looked like the Chinese version of the crème brûlée and surprisingly, it was pretty nice in its own unique way. The Glutinous Rice was perfect! However, it would have been better if the toddy palm (sea coconut) was a tad softer. Note, it is called ‘Almond Tea’ and not ‘Almond Paste’ so do not expect the thick velvety version. Pretty mediocre. You can give this a miss. Apparently the grass jelly is popular, but nothing beats the basil seeds one! Please see below! OMG OMG OMG BEST. Never had anything like that before. And we reckon that 满记甜品’s specialty is their vanilla sauce, so anything that goes with it is awesome! We were so happy to find out that they now have two more outlets – one in 313 @ Somerset, and the other, Bugis Junction.
