Durian Mooncakes 16/09/2010 East Coast, Festive, Islandwide, Orchard With the mid-autumn festival just round the corner, I reckon that by this time, everyone is more or less done with their mooncake shopping. Well, for those who haven’t, this post is for you! Durian – hate it or love it. Most Singaporeans love it though, and durian mooncakes are seen as one of the most premium gifts one can get for their loved ones. And when Singaporeans think of durian products, they think of Goodwood Park. After all, they’re renowned for making top notch durian pastries for years. Definitely reliable. But what I found which is comparable, or perhaps argumentatively better than Goodwood Park, is this brand called Home’s Favourite. The mooncakes come in very nice packaging. They call this the ‘Black Gold Top Grade Mao Shan Wang Durian Mooncake.’ I have no idea what the black snow skin is made of, but I suspected black sugar is the main culprit. Heavenly I TELL YOU.
